Emphasis on party, however, we bounce between a refined dinner party and the basement of a frat house. Most times, everyone is calm and polite, manners are being used, and you can hear yourself think. At a moment’s notice, everyone is feral, cups and snacks scatter everywhere, and, by comparison, a volume of “11” would be welcome. Fatherhood + parenthood are the most intense hoods that I have ever called home.

As “Mike Medved Weddings and Events", I’ve had the honor of working as a wedding musician and DJ for couples in the greater Pittsburgh area + the surrounding states. During that time, I have been blessed to provide entertainment at corporate and private events as well.
The music has always mattered. The gear and the experience have always mattered.
The people have always mattered the most.
We are growing.
I launched Pgh Wedding Music Co. in March of 2026 to serve even more couples and corporate clients across Western Pennsylvania. Our team of wildly talented musicians and vocalists are top tier professionals. I also get to call them my friends.
My personal wedding day services are available exclusively through MMW+E above, but as the owner and founder of Pgh Wedding Music Co., I get to personally plan and organize every wedding music package through our new and exciting brand.

Dad Day - Go West: Pushing Simon
No words could accurately describe the gratitude I have for Adam Kunes from Dad Day for capturing Simon’s adventure through the Pittsburgh Marathon in such a vivid and authentic way. In doing so, Adam gave our family the gift of a lifetime. Thank you Adam!

About MikeMike lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife, Hillary, and their three kids: Simon, Ruth, and Aaron.
Family is at the center of everything he does. Hillary is part owner of Barton’s Flowers and Bake Shop, where she brings her creative eye to weddings and events. Together, they’re raising their kids to see and love people of all abilities, backgrounds, and walks of life.
Their son Simon, who has cerebral palsy, attends the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. He brings joy, resilience, and perspective to their family every day. He loves cooking class, shopping trips, and cruising the yard in his adapted power-wheel Jeep.
For Mike, fatherhood has shaped the way he sees the world. It’s taught him to slow down, show up, and find beauty in the everyday moments that matter most.
